SMI-LabHut wins Queens Award
|
SMI-LabHut Ltd has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category. Supplying sampling devices, accessories and consumables for the chromatography and dissolution markets, the company achieved continuous significant growth over 6 years and generated over 80% of its sales overseas. The 7 strong team, based in Gloucester and led by Mark and Sheila Wardle, implemented a strategy of strong internet marketing together with a flexible and supportive approach to a distributor network resulting in sales in over 90 countries. Commenting on their success, Managing Director Mark Wardle said:
“We are honoured to be recognised in this way, our success is directly attributable to a talented and loyal team who recognise that support and communication is the number one issue for the majority of our customers.”
SMI-Labhut Ltd was presented with the award in July by Her Majesty's Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Gloucestershire, Major John Eyre. The County High Sheriff, Mrs Anne Chambers, and the Mayor of Tewksbury also attended.
Following the presentation, Mark and Sheila Wardle were invited to a reception at Buckingham Palace. The reception was hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh for all the recipients of the Queen's Awards 2009.
The Queen's Awards are the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance and are presented annually to a small number of outstanding companies who have achieved significant growth and exports in their sector.back to top » |
